They earned it right before Thanksgiving break, and we played some fun relays and had yummy pumpkin whoopie pies! They are super pumped to keep it going for the month of December!

In collaboration with the AES PTO, the AES staff joined in the festivities by hosting a night of literary fun. Each classroom had a book theme with interesting activities. Guests were excited to make potions in the Harry Potter room, read to therapy dogs in the Elephant & Piggy room, solve puzzles in the mystery room, and exercise around New England. The book fair in the library was equally as exciting as the Italian pizza feast in the multi-purpose room. AES is an enthusiastic learning community!

They were transported back in time to the small frontier community on New Hampshire's westernmost border. A blacksmith and a weaver demonstrated their trades to the students, and they also toured a colonial kitchen and trading post where they learned about food preparation, and also that coins would actually be cut in half by the shopkeeper when he need to give back change. The fierce wind and rain of the day helped the students appreciate the ruggedness that these people must have had to live there over 200 years ago.
